CCR Production

Hey all! This past weekend I have been working on the production of my CCRs. I am one step closer to finishing the portfolio project, and I am so excited yet nervous. I feel extra stressed for time because Thursday night I'm flying to Paris, so I want to try to have most things done before I leave so I don't have to worry about doing too much when I'm abroad. For my CCRs, I plan to combine questions 1-2 into a voiceover presentation and 3-4 into a video director commentary style video. My production process for each is shown below.

CCR 1: Voice Over Presentation

The first part of making my voiceover production was picking out template fonts and colors. Considering I have relied on purple so much for my opening, I thought it was only fitting to choose a purple template.

After picking a template, I started designing my slides. Above is an example of one of my slides. I designed them using my research from previous blog posts, all to help me answer the questions I needed.

Next, I filmed my audios directly on Canva. I was able to use tips learned in class and my research and scripts to help me record for each slide.

The audio was then placed onto the slide. I did this for each slide until 5 hours later when I was completely done.

 CCR 2: Director Commentary

Anna Kendrick Answers The Web's Most Searched Questions

I knew that because my first CCR did not show my face, I wanted the second to be a more interview-style form of media. I was inspired by the autocomplete-style interviews by Wired, which ask celebrities the web's most asked questions about them. I thought this was such a cool and engaging interview style and decided to take inspiration from it for my second CCR.

In going about producing this CCR, I first designed the autocomplete. I made it on Canva, shown above, by taking a picture of my home Google screen and editing it to put the questions I wanted.

I then printed the paper and glued it onto cardboard. I added papers covering each question so that I could peel it off and reveal each question as the interview went on.

Next up was filming. I filmed in my room because I really wanted to use all the lighting, like my LED lights and mirror lights. I filmed it all in approximately 2 hours and had to shoot and reshoot many, many, many times. Below are some of the clips I got. Ignore my faces at the end I haven't edited yet!
